Mayaltho, Nineveh Lent Ends (Malayalam)

Mary and Joseph represent the priests. They bring forth God into the Temple, for the first time in the body He took from the Theotokos. The blessed Simeon and Anna represent the congregation and they receive the God-man worshipping Him. Both of them had spent their lifetime in preparation to be the worthy congregation in this worship. When they receive the Savior – they prophesy – “My eyes have seen your salvation!”

As an apt reminder of how a congregation behaves after an encounter with God in worship – they then “gave thanks to the Lord and spoke of Him to all those who looked for salvation”
