OCYM

The Orthodox Christian Youth Movement (OCYM) is the youth-wing of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. It contributes to the goodness and progress of the parish in the three-fold path of worship, study and service.

OCYM at our parish is a gathering of youths aged between 15 to 40, to enrich ourselves spiritually, demonstrate various talents of the young blood, and foster community spirit within and outside of church.

Our mission is to mould the minds and visions of youths against the background of the contemporary issues, and empower them in body, mind, and spirit, so as to live Christ-like.

We meet after Holy Qurbana on the last Sunday of every month. The monthly fellowship sessions called Revive & Connect comprise worship and fun activities to explore applications of biblical lessons and connections to our daily lives.

OCYM events:
  • Annual Orthodox Youth Camp (AOYC), gathering of youths from Malaysia and Singapore for spiritual enrichment and to celebrate our roots and heritage.
  • Charitable collaborations, to reach out to the needy and provide required aid.
  • Car wash, bake sale, and other fundraisers.
  • Walkathon, and other sports events to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
  • Youth Meets, for networking and unity among youths.
  • Youth Nite, annual showcase of talents through a cultural show.
