Vicar’s Message
"For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speak" (Luke 6:45)
A person’s tongue is a reflection of their heart, revealing the true essence of their thoughts and emotions. The words we speak—whether kind or harsh, sincere or deceitful— offer a glimpse into our inner character.
Just as the tongue detects flavors, it also expresses the sentiments of the soul, making speech a window into one’s true nature. “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone” (Colossians 4:6). A heart filled with kindness and wisdom will produce words of encouragement and truth, while a troubled heart may manifest in words of bitterness and discord.
May we strive to speak words that uplift and inspire, following the wisdom of Ephesians 4:29: “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ultimately, what we say is a direct reflection of what resides within us. May our words always align with the love and wisdom that God calls us to share.
This Great Lent, the season of fasting, prayer, repentance and alms-giving, lets cleanse our hearts, so that our words may reflect love, kindness, and truth.
May God Bless you all.
